Choosing Kebony?
When you’re ready to choose a Kebony deck or cladding there are two options. Kebony Character displays the natural knots of the wood whilst Kebony Clear is free of any markings. It’s a looks thing.
Kebony Character
Kebony Character products are produced from FSCTM Certifed Pinus Sylvestris and contain knots and untreated heartwood. They have a deep brown color that will turn to a silver-grey patina over time. The speed of the greying process depends on the intensity of exposure to the sun and rain and the application.
Kebony Clear
Kebony Clear products are produced from FSCTM Certifed Pinus Radiata and have a clear surface with no knots and are treated throughout the board. They have a deep brown color that will turn to a silver-grey patina over time. The speed of the greying process depends on the intensity of exposure to the sun and rain and the application.

The Kebony technology is an environmentally friendly, patented process which enhances the properties of non-durable softwoods with a bio-based liquid. As a result the wood’s cell structure is permanently modified adopting the characteristics of the best tropical hardwood.
